Returned volunteer competitions
When you get back from your volunteer placement, you’re bound to have dozens, if not hundreds of great photos and memories that you’re dying to share with everyone…well here’s your chance!
Each year, Lattitude Global Volunteering run a number of competitions for volunteers. So if you fancy yourself as the next great travel writer, or think you have an eye for a good photo then you could find yourself the winner of one of our cash prizes (£50). Winners of the photo categories also get their winning print on canvas thanks to our photo competition sponsor: Canvas Dezigns
Please note entries are now closed for the 2012 competition. Winners will be announced at the end of November. To vote for your favourite photo entries, please do so: Click here
Any entries submitted will now be entered into the 2013 competition
Enter competitions (2012 / 2013)
Entries accepted up until the 1st October 2012, with winners announced at the end of October 2013, all those who volunteer in 2012 / 2013 are eligible for entry.
Here are the different categories, and what the judges are looking for:
Photographic - Your Turn Next
We’re looking for an image showing volunteers in action - really getting stuck in and making a difference to their local community.
Photographic - Spirit of the Country
This category gives you the chance to get artistic and creative - or simply capture an amazing view or moment in the country where you’re volunteering. We’re looking for something a bit different or special which sums up the essence of your destination. Not easy in one photo, but the standard last year was exceptionally high - so get creative!
Written competition
“My Ultimate Lattitude Experience.” We’re not looking for a massive book - the word limit is around 500 words. It can be one experience, a week or the whole placement, we are looking for entries that capture the spirit of your placement
Video competition
Seeing as most digital cameras have the ability to take short video clips, it was only a matter of time before this category was introduced. Entries should be no more than 2 minutes long, and should capture what it means to be a volunteer, encouraging others to make a difference overseas. We’re not looking for great technical ability - a simple video diary might be an idea, or filming a project you’ve become involved in.
Best Blog
We love to read what our volunteers are up to, so why not send us the link to your blog? Blogs must have more than 10 entries, but most of you will have millions of things to talk about, so don’t hold back!
