ICS Lead Coordinator – Ghana
12 month contract (with possible extension)
The international citizen service (ICS) programme brings young people from different countries together to fight poverty. The programme delivers direct development impact in communities through volunteering projects involving UK and Ghana volunteers living, working and learning together. Through a programme of structured personal development and learning, Lattitude ICS creates a group of young people, both in the UK and in Ghana who make a lifelong contribution as advocates for international development and as agents of social change within their own communities.
The role
Based in Ghana, the ICS Lead Country Coordinator will report to the Lattitude Country Manager and work directly with Lattitude ICS staff in UK, to establish the programme. The ICS Lead Country Coordinator will supervise ICS Coordinators and volunteer Team Leaders. The ICS Lead Coordinator is responsible for the practical delivery of the Lattitude ICS programme in Ghana, including day to day planning and management of the programme; working with host partners and volunteer teams to provide and facilitate volunteer learning and development, project delivery, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
The applicant
The applicant will be expected to have strong people management skills within cross cultural environments. She or he must be able to provide a high degree of pastoral care and support to young people and have experience of working with and developing young people and have the proven ability to deliver training, preferably in an international development context.
The applicant will likely have at least a bachelor’s degree with other training or experience and will be comfortable working in both urban and rural environments for an extended period of time. Experience in supervision and line management and in budget and finance management is essential. Strong Planning and organisational skills, IT and administrative skills are required.
