Alberta's pharmacy Awarded £300.00

Alberta’s Pharmacy:  https://www.gofundme.com/help-start-albertas-pharmacy

Canadian volunteer, Daniela Hoolaeff applied through Lattitude’s Canadian office to volunteer in a Ghana Placement as a Medical Assistant for 5 months in the Community of Aperade.

Inspired by her host mother, Alberta, who welcomed her and another volunteer into her family and community for the duration of her stay, Daniela said: “She is an amazing woman. Her main goal in life is to help people, and everything she does is to better the lives of those around her.”

Alberta explained to our volunteers her hopes of creating a local pharmacy for the community of Aperade and they wanted to help her dream come true.

Project Aims:

  • to renovate a run down building into a clean environment to set up the pharmacy
  • To give the local community access to medicines at cost price rather than having to walk miles to the nearest pharmacy, sometimes carrying very ill children or elderly relatives.
