Interested in coming to the UK? Here is some trivia to help you learn a bit more about this interesting, historical and diverse country!

  1. 1. Stonehenge is older than the Pyramids. Stonehenge is believed to have been constructed in 3000 BCE !
  2. 2. The British Library in London is the largest library in the world.
  3. 3. You can get to France from the UK in under 2 hours.
  4. 4. Nowhere in the UK is further away from the coastline than 75 miles.
  5. 5. Approximately 165 million cups of tea are drunk per day in the UK.
  6. 6. The London Underground is the oldest in the world. It’s also known as ‘the tube.’
  7. 7. London has over 170 museums.
  8. 8. Famous scientists from the UK include Charles Darwin, Michael Faraday, Isaac Newton and Stephen Hawking.
  9. 9. It’s treason to stick a stamp on an envelope upside down- it has the Queen’s head on it!
  10. 10. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, Oasis, Queen, Coldplay, Tom Jones, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Spice Girls, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, ELO, Stereophonics,  Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs, the Gorrilaz, (and many many more) all hail from the UK.
